Jennifer Nettles was born and raised in the Lowcountry. At age 18, she began working in a hair salon where she met her business partner and friend. Together, they opened The Hair Gallery on Hilton Head Island that’s been in business 16 years. Overcoming childhood abuse, she learned she had the ability to use that experience as a gift to make a difference in other people’s lives. Whether giving advice, just listening to someone, staying late or coming in on her day off because of a family emergency, Jennifer knew she was answering her life’s calling.

April Landrum moved to the Lowcountry from Atlanta with her daughter to start a new life after a painful divorce and to be close to her mom and sister. Being a self-employed “city girl,” she thought the move would only be transitional, but she decided to stay. April was a high school cheerleader and did makeup application for her squad. Later, as a flight attendant, she often did makeovers for her flight crew. Her artistry has landed her jobs such as The Donald/Melania Trump wedding, ATL Braves Freddie Freeman, John Mellencamp & Zac Brown videos, The Weather Channel, Bounce TV, & luxury destination weddings.

Jennifer and April agree that God sent them to CrossFit to find each other. April, being super eccentric and friendly, jokes that she stalked Jennifer. The pair started working out together almost daily and became known at their gym as “The GlamSquad.” They were highly impressed with each other’s work, morals, and ethics and were astonished by how seamlessly and perfectly they worked together doing on-location makeup and hair as a team. They view themselves as Southern girls with a NYC mindset and pace.
