What are the three most important lessons you have learned building your business?
Have faith and confidence in yourself. Learn by doing. Learn to say no; you’re not going to please everyone.

When you first started, what were the biggest challenges when it came to cultivating clients/customers?
Being the “new person” and building relationships with customers that had been ordering from the previous owner for 30 years.

Do you have a motivational quote?
“It is what it is.”

How long have you been in business?
This is our fourth year owning FBS, but I’ve done events and weddings for over 25 years.

What inspired you to start your business?
My daughters. I spent 30 years in the corporate world as a human resources director while doing flowers and events on the side. Now, with my family grown, they encourage me to do what I love.

Do you have a favorite business tool and/or resource?
Kelly Perry’s “Team Flower”; great vendors/wholesalers; brainstorming with my daughters.

What is your guilty pleasure?
Quiet time alone—feel like I should be doing something.
