Edisto Beach Music & Shag Fest
Friday, Sept. 2, noon-7 p.m.
Sat., Sept. 3, 10 a.m.-7 p.m.
Sun., Sept. 4, noon-3 p.m.
Dance to Shem Creek Boogie Band, The Entertainers, Shag Doctorz, East Coast Party Band and Band of Oz. The park opens at noon on Friday and Sunday with an arts and craft fair and food vendors. Saturday events begin at 10 a.m. The Shag is the state dance of South Carolina. Come to Edisto Beach and be entertained by the top beach bands and best shag dancers in the Southeast.

Fall Music & Taste on the Harbour
Thursdays, September 8-October 20, 6-9 p.m., weather permitting
The best live local music combined with gourmet food and fantastic sunset water views for the return of Music & Taste on the Harbour. Local bands will take the stage, while select Shelter Cove Harbour restaurants offer appetizers and drink specials. Entrance to the event is free. No coolers or outside food are allowed; limited seating is available. Attendees are encouraged to bring chairs as well as canned good donations for the Deep Well Project.

Roots: A Taste of the Lowcountry
Friday, September 9, 6:30-9:30 p.m.
Join the crowd for an array of traditional Lowcountry specialties with a dash of the unexpected, music, drinks and dancing. The four-course dinner event features celebrity chef Virginia Willis along with chefs BJ Dennis, Sallie Ann Robinson and Jim Spratling. The festivities also include a silent auction, opportunities to dish with the chefs, book signings and more. Proceeds will benefit the Morris Center for Lowcountry Heritage, a cultural and educational center committed to the promotion and preservation of the region’s rich offerings. Tickets are $125.

Bluffton Boiled Peanut Festival
Saturday, September 10, noon-5 p.m.
The Bluffton Boiled Peanut Festival has evolved from a one-day event to a weekend filled with activities for the whole family. Start off Thursday with the official “Cracking of the Nut” at the Bluffton Farmers Market. Friday night is for the grown-ups with a Peanut Pub Crawl through Old Town Bluffton. Then bring the whole family down Saturday for a carnival-style event with contests, live music, games, food and tons of peanut fun.

Italian Heritage Festival
Saturday, September 17, 11 a.m.-4 p.m.
The festival will offer a full slate of activities for locals and visitors. A number of booths will be dedicated to traditional Italian foods such as cheeses, breads, pasta, fish, meatballs, sausage, calzones, and delicious sweets including Italian ice, gelato, biscotti and zeppoli—many sponsored by local restaurants. The festival will also feature a special events stage where attendees can enjoy a grape stomping contest, pizza-eating contest, and “best restaurant” contest. Cooking enthusiasts and foodies will not want to miss the festival’s variety of unique cooking demonstrations. Learn how to make perfect pizzelles (waffle cookies), homemade sausage, fresh mozzarella and ricotta cheese, and limoncello. For the sports-inclined, the festival will offer bocce (one of Italy’s national pastimes), a golf challenge and stickball; participants can learn and play, or just watch. Attendees can also test their strength on the High Striker (hammer & bell), as well as test their aim at the dunk tank.

Bluffton Sunset Party: Blufftemberfest
Saturday, September 17, 5-9 p.m.
The Saturday special end of the summer blowout, Blufftemberfest, is a Bluffton-style Octoberfest. Enjoy live music by Two Guys from OCD and La Bodega along with food court and harvest beer garden offerings—all beers just $4. Admission is $5 for adults; children 12 and under admitted free.

Latinos Unidos Food Festival
Sunday, September 18, 11 a.m.-6 p.m.
Join in a cultural celebration for Latino Heritage Month. This year, the Latinos Unidos Food Festival celebrates its seventh annual festival by benefiting Volunteers in Medicine, Hilton Head Island. The event will include live Latino music, food, and kids’ fun. All are invited to bring blankets or lawn chairs and to sit back, relax, and take in this celebration of culture. There is a suggested donation of $3 for adults.

Burgers and Brew Festival
Saturday, October 1, 11 a.m.–5 p.m.
At this fun-filled festival, local restaurants will be cooking their best slider burgers to compete for your vote; meanwhile in the beer garden sponsored by Ocean Woods Landscaping, you have a chance to taste 20 different brews. The sliders can be beef, chicken, pork, or seafood, so there is something for everyone. The Kids’ Zone will have plenty of moon bounces and games for your child’s entertainment at a minimal fee. For college football fans, a viewing area with a big screen television will be at the event. Admission is $6 (children 10 & under are free). All concessions and activities are sold separately.

**Chili Cook Off **
Saturday, October 8, 11:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m.
The Kiwanis Clubs of Hilton Head Island will present the 32nd Annual Chili
Cook-Off at the Coastal Discovery Museum at Honey Horn on Saturday, October 8, rain or shine, with all-you-can-eat chili! There will be live music and free children’s games and activities. Beer, wine, soda, hot dogs, and ice cream will be available for purchase. Over 1,000 attendees are expected again this year.

Historic Bluffton Arts & Seafood Festival
Saturday, October 15-Sunday, October 23
The twelfth annual Historic Bluffton Arts and Seafood Festival will be held in the charming and eclectic historic district of Bluffton, South Carolina, well known for its quirky arts community and natural river beauty. The festival is a weeklong event, offering myriad activities, showcasing locally harvested seafood, delicious Lowcountry cuisine, rich history, culture, art, and Southern hospitality. The highlight of the festival is Streetfest, which includes a juried fine art show featuring over 100 artists from 10 different states, displaying and selling their art; delicious food provided by the area’s premier restaurants and caterers; and great music and entertainment on Saturday, October 22 and Sunday, October 23.

Oyster Festival
Friday, November 11, 5-8 p.m., Saturday & Sunday, November 12-13, 11 a.m.-5 p.m.
The 2016 Oyster Festival benefitting the Island Rec Center, highlights steamed, fried and stewed oysters along with other delicious food for non-oyster eaters. There will be live entertainment, a Kids’ Zone, marshmallow roasting and a sports lounge for football fans. A silent auction takes place Saturday and Sunday and a holiday craft show Friday-Sunday. Admission for adults is $6; children 10 & under are free.
